About Good Columns

Good Columns makes spreadsheet templates for people who keep records for a living, or alongside one: small landlords, property managers, bookkeepers, tax preparers and Etsy sellers.

Who runs it

Ayyub Cader, from Melbourne, Australia. Good Columns is a one-person shop: I build each file, check it and answer the email.

What we make

Excel workbooks, designed to open in Google Sheets, each for one job: an owner statement, a Schedule E rent ledger, a document chase kit for tax season, an Etsy profit calculator, a rental deal analyzer and a move-in / move-out inspection kit. They are written for US users, in US dollars.

The standards

No advice. The files organise your records and do the arithmetic. They do not tell you how to file taxes, whether to buy a property or what you may deduct from a deposit.

Checked formulas. Every formula is checked against worked examples and against the mistakes people actually make, and most files carry a Checks tab that tells you when something doesn't add up.

Plain refunds. No change-of-mind refunds on digital files. If a file is faulty or not as described, we fix it or refund you.
